Two additional highlights of the meeting included the drawing for Spotlight Member of the Month, which was Anytime Fitness of La Vernia, and the drawing for the Spotlight Member of the Year, whose photo will be on the cover of the 2014 Business Directory, American Investment Planners, South Texas Branch.
More than 25 members attended the meeting, which included reminders about the wreath decorating contest and the Christmas decorating contest, sponsored by the GLVCC and the La Vernia Municipal Development District (LVMDD). Winners will be announced at the Wassail Walk on Friday, Dec. 13, in the La Vernia Heritage Museum.
The Wassail Walk will be from 5-7:30 p.m., beginning and ending at the museum, as Santa welcomes good boys and girls for photos at the La Vernia News office at 121 Chihuahua St. The Wassail Walk, which is free and open to the public, includes businesses that will be offering hot wassail to strollers and shoppers, and is also sponsored by the GLVCC and the LVMDD.
Members were reminded to pay dues before the end of December to be included in the 2014 directory.
