ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. Fidel Castillo, founder of A Father’s Initiative “Stop the Violence in San Antonio and Across America,” invites everyone to the first-ever Conjunto Christmas on the River and Candlelight Vigil for the children of San Antonio on Sunday, Dec. 15, at VFW Post No. 76 on 10th Street in San Antonio.

Activities will include music by “Guedo Polka” at 11 a.m., Conjunto DJ Pepe Sanchez, a toy drive from 12:30-2:30 p.m., and special guests Dr. Patsy Torres of Positive Force and Jaime Martinez. The event is free and will also include a petition signing for the 83rd Legislation’s passing of SB1356 and HB915 (stopping the uses of restraints, isolations, and psychotropic drugs on poor/at risk children in Texas).
