FLORESVILLE -- City Manager Henrietta Turner remains on the job, following the Floresville City Council's 2-2 vote to terminate her for allegedly exceeding her authority.

No mention was made as to the circumstances surrounding the move, which came following more than an hour spent in closed session at a Dec. 19 special meeting. Councilmen Johnny Ray Nieto and Mario Morones voted in favor of firing Turner while Eric Rodriguez and John W. Guerrero voted in opposition.

According to attorney Chris Hugg of the law offices of Louis T. Rosenberg -- the city's legal counsel -- the city's home-rule charter requires a majority vote of the council in order to terminate a city manager. Mayor Diana Garza was not permitted to cast a tie-breaking vote.

Im sorry Mrs Turner, I know your from Chicago. And I know Chicago politics are rough. But I don't think you were prepared for the nepotism and good ole boy politics here. Its a whole different kind of screwed up.

I don't have a vehement opinion of Miller. But the fact is he lied to the voters. That's an undisputed fact. Also, I don't doubt that you remain loyal.I feel confident that the remaining council are/were part of that same loyalty.
