Pauline Sims Hill passed from this life to her life eternal on Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013, at the age of 97. She was born in Rains County, Texas, on Dec. 3, 1916, to Ed and Opal Sims.

Pauline and her late husband, Marvin, were devoted to their Lord and committed to family and community. They leave their legacy of faith and faithfulness to God, country, and their family of five children and 77 grandchildren. They were faithful members of the La Vernia First Baptist Church. They were also members of the Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star. In recent years, Pauline faithfully attended worship services at Eden Hill Chapel in New Braunfels.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Marvin W. Hill; her parents; brothers Melton, Carl, and Herman Sims; and sister Lois Sims Schindler.

Pauline is survived by her children, Joyce Moehrig and husband RJ of Rocksprings, Marlene Moore and husband Stephen of New Braunfels, Barbara Fillinger and husband James of Helotes, Sue Fuselier and husband Rudy of Garden Ridge, and Melton Hill of New Caney; brother Marvin Sims and wife Christine of Taft; sister-in-law Doris Sims of Mexia; numerous nieces and nephews; and many loving friends.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, Dec. 18, from 6-8 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in La Vernia.

A funeral service was held on Thursday at 10 a.m. in the funeral chapel.

A private interment will take place at a later time.

Memorial contributions may be made in Pauline’s name to the La Vernia First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 279, La Vernia, TX 78121.
