The Sutherland Springs Museum booked Witte’s Restaurant in La Vernia for its 18th annual Christmas banquet. The building was full of supporters for the fund-raiser.

There were door prizes and an auction, which raised more funds. The women dressed up in their Christmas sweaters and brought many homemade desserts that the men enjoyed.

Faye Gassner was the emcee and sang Christmas carols while Mickie McCater gave away the door prizes. Judge Marvin Quinney and Justice of the Peace Jim Burdette helped with the auction. There was much laughter and reminiscing by all.

Thanks to Jeff Witte for always working with the Sutherland Springs Museum, serving great food, and making the fund-raiser possible. Thank you also to everyone who has supported the event by way of door prizes, desserts, and auction items. Thank you, Wilson County, for a great year.
