Roberto “Bobby” Martinez Ramirez Sr., a longtime resident of Poth, Texas, passed into the arms of our Lord on Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013, at 8:40 a.m. in his residence in San Antonio at the age of 69 years, 10 months, and 6 days. Bobby was born Feb. 13, 1944, in Floresville, the son of Anita Martinez and Gerardo Ramirez Sr.

Bobby graduated from Poth High School and worked in sales his entire life. He married Maria Antonieta Hernandez on Feb. 6, 1966, in Mexico. Bobby was a very devoted man of God and will be greatly missed by all those who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Bobby is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Maria Ramirez; his children, Roberto H. Ramirez Jr., Yvonne M. Olivarez, Moises H. Ramirez, and Michael A. Ramirez; his son-in-law, Frank Olivarez Sr.; his daughters-in-law, Miriam, Valerie, and Denise Ramirez; 12 grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Visitation was held on Saturday, Dec. 21, from 5-7 p.m., followed by a prayer service at 7 p.m. in the Iglesia Cristiana Church in San Antonio.

A funeral service was held on Sunday at 1 p.m. in the Emmanuel Assembly of God Church in Poth.

Interment followed in the Emmanuel Assembly of God Cemetery in Poth.

Serving as pallbearers were Roberto H. Ramirez Jr., Moises H. Ramirez, Michael Ramirez, Frank Olivarez Sr., Alec Ramirez, and Frankie Olivarez Jr.
