‘Coming soon’ — business growth in area communities
As 2013 goes out with a bang, 2014 is shaping up to be a year of continued growth in the Wilson County News coverage area.
Taco Bell and Domino’s Pizza will join the La Vernia business community, according to information released by the La Vernia Municipal Development District on Twitter. The two franchises will open in the La Vernia Crossing retail center, offering more dining options to folks in and around La Vernia.
Coming soon to Floresville are Dollar Tree and Cato. They will be located in the suite formerly occupied by Walmart on U.S. 181, joining Anytime Fitness as it expands.
A Holiday Inn Express next to H-E-B on U.S. 181 in Floresville also is now accepting guests.
“Coming soon” is often associated with new movie releases. And coming soon to the Arcadia Theatre in Floresville will be new screens, to allow the theater to screen films in digital format. This is an exciting development for the theater, an entertainment mecca in Floresville for decades.
New businesses have continued to spring up throughout 2013. Now open at 113 South Parkway Drive in the industrial park off U.S. 87 south of La Vernia is Leather King Mfg., specializing in canvas and leather collections, including travel bags, totes, and duffels. Call Blake Jones at 210-286-8783 or visit www.blakejones.designs.com.
And Double Back Ranch Boutique & Gifts opened in the St. Hedwig area. Located at 395 E. F.M. 1518 S., across from St. Hedwig Feed, this boutique is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. offering a range of gifts and more. For more gifts, jewelry, purses, and “bling” things, try Girlfriends, located at 13656 U.S. 181 in San Antonio. Specials can be found on the store’s Facebook page, Facebook/girlfriendssa.
Continue your search for unique gifts at Heart Like Mine in Floresville, which offers boutique items, apparel, shoes, jewelry, Circle E Candles, and more. Hours are Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The boutique is located at 1920 10th St. (U.S. 181). Call 830-391-2886 or find them on Facebook.
Filling a niche in health care for area communities are two new urgent-care clinics. Connally Memorial Urgent Care and Health Care Center is now open at 13857 U.S. 87 W. in La Vernia. Hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Call 830-779-2780 or visit www.connallymmc.org for information.
