Hay & Forage report, Dec. 27

Compared to last week: Hay prices remain unchanged through the holiday season. Trade activity was slow on light demand. Some of the Panhandle was fortunate enough to receive various amounts of snowfall over the past weekend supplying much needed moisture. Supplemental feeding of livestock continues across the state. This report will resume Jan. 10, 2013 due to holiday season. Prices for hay and pellets quoted per ton except where noted.
North, Central, & East Texas
Alfalfa: Small Squares: FOB: Premium to Supreme $7, $230 per ton; Good to Premium $5-$7, $165-$230 per ton.
Large Squares: Delivered: Premium to Supreme $280-$315; Good to Premium $250-$275.
Coastal Bermuda: Small Squares: FOB: Good to Premium $200-$265, $6-$8 per bale.
Large Rounds: FOB: Good to Premium $60-$80; $120-$160 per ton, Good $40-$50 per roll, $80-$100 per ton.
South Texas Hay Report
Coastal Bermuda: Small squares: FOB: Good to Premium $230-$265, $7-$8 per bale; Fair to Good $165-$230, $5-$7 per bale.
Large rounds: FOB and delivered locally: Good to Premium $120-$140; $60-$70.
Gordo Bluestem: Large Rounds: FOB: $35-$40 per roll.
