Basilio Sealo Salinas Sr.
Basilio Sealo Salinas Sr. passed away Friday, Jan. 3, 2014, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 91 years, 6 months, and 19 days. He was born June 14, 1922, in Pandora to Mateio and Genovefoe Sanchez Salinas. He was a lifelong resident of Pandora and served in World War II in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Francisca Martinez Salinas; children Susie, Gilbert, Jesse, and Ernest Salinas; one sister; and two brothers.
Basilio is survived by his children, Basilia Hernandez and husband Jimmy of Pandora, Janie Villarreal and husband Charles of Stockdale, Robert Salinas of Houston, and Charlie Salinas and wife Diane of Karnes City; sister Virginia; brothers Robert Salinas and wife Diega of Seguin and Vincente Salinas of Luling; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; and a host of friends.
Visitation was held Monday, Jan. 6, at 9 a.m. in the Franklin Funeral Home Chapel in Floresville.
A funeral service was held Monday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Sil Ornelas of Pandora officiating.
Interment followed in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Pandora.
Serving as pallbearers were Charlie Salinas, Charlie Villarreal, Richard Salinas, Howard Houseton, Marky Salinas, and Jimmy Hernandez.
