Volunteer training at Mitchell Lake
If you enjoy birding, gardening, hiking, the outdoors, or have a love of nature that you would like to share with others, then plan to attend Mitchell Lake’s volunteer training on Saturday, Jan. 18 and 25, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Volunteers contribute to the wildlife refuge through offering their expertise for special programs, helping with community outreach, providing nature store support, and more. Specialized education volunteers create exciting learning experiences for small groups of schoolchildren and the general public.
The cost is $35, which covers lunch, training materials, and a student/teacher membership to the Mitchell Lake Audubon Center. Retired teachers, university students, and those with Spanish language skills are encouraged to apply.
