Offer condolences


JoAnn Laskowski Broll, a longtime resident of Floresville, Texas, since 1953, entered eternal rest Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014, at 5:20 a.m., in the Floresville Nursing Center in Floresville, at the age of 81 years, 7 months, and 23 days. JoAnn was born May 23, 1932, in Kosciusko, the daughter of Joseph and Regina Notzon Laskowski.

She completed grade school in Kosciusko, and graduated from Poth High School. JoAnn married Henry Broll Jr. on Nov. 20, 1951, in St. Ann Catholic Church in Kosciusko. Henry, JoAnn’s beloved husband of more than 61 years, preceded her in death on Jan. 9, 2013. JoAnn was a homemaker and a member of the Altar Society and was a CCD teacher for many faithful years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Henry Broll Jr.; and her siblings, Flavian Laskowski, Ephrem Laskowski, Antone Laskowski, Albert Laskowski, and Sally Laskowski.

JoAnn is survived by her children, Shirley Toscano and husband Sal, Erwin Broll and wife Terri, Shary Broll and wife Barbara, Shelby Broll and wife Barbara, and Sheryl Camber and husband Leroy; her grandchildren, Nicole Toscano, Ashley Broll Konkle and husband Trent, Cody Broll, Stephen Broll, Landry Carlton, Casey Broll, Kelsea Camber Owens and husband Brenton, and Clayton Camber; her great-grandchild, Brenton Owens II; and her sisters, Irene Ibrom and husband Victor and Lillian Broll and husband Bron.

Visitation was held on Saturday, Jan. 18, at 8:30 a.m., with a rosary at 9:30 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville.

A funeral Mass was held on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in the church, officiated by the Rev. Frank Kurzaj. Interment followed in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Floresville. Serving as pallbearers were Cody Broll, Clayton Camber, Trent Konkle, Brenton Owens, Leroy Camber, Sal Toscano, and Landry Carlton.
