Immanuel Lutheran Church is now hiring for a Youth and Family Ministry Director. Pastoral: Minister to youth and their families during Sunday School and other church programs, being present in their lives outside the church walls, available for common concerns and in crisis situations. Leadership: Recruit and nurture Youth and Family Ministry program. Administration : Manage the planning process and coordinate with Pastor and Youth Committee all regular ministries to youth and their families. This includes youth of all ages on Sunday mornings and mid-week events; assisting with Confirmation, special events, trips and retreats, and parent meetings. Stewardship: Ongoing evaluation of the effectiveness of youth programs, manage youth ministry budget, and collaborate with the sponsors of each Youth group. Ability to build, lead, and empower youth. Ability to implement a ministry vision. Familiarity with Lutheran Doctrine required; must be comfortable teaching it and representing Lutheran Theology. Proficient computer skills using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, database, email, internet, and social media. Supervisory experience preferred. Ability to adapt and evaluate curriculum preferred. Must have excellent organization, communication (verbal and written), and listening skills, with a high degree of initiative and accountability. Exceptional interpersonal and relational skills required, with sensitivity to church members and visitors. Understanding and enjoyment of youth and families and guiding their spiritual development. Theresa Andrada Ramirez, a longtime resident of Poth, Texas, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014, at 10:32 p.m. in her residence in Poth, at the age of 79 years, 4 months, and 13 days. Theresa was born Sept. 2, 1934, in Denhawken, the daughter of Erminia Garcia and Jose Angel Andrada Sr. She attended school in Campbellton and was a homemaker.

Theresa married Abel R. Ramirez Sr. Jan. 1, 1953, in Poth. Abel, Theresa’s beloved husband of more than 60 years, preceded her in death on July 26, 2013.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Erminia Andrada; her husband, Abel R. Ramirez Sr.; and a son, Ernest Ramirez.

Theresa is survived by her children, Abel Ramirez Jr. and wife Elvia of Poth and Rebecca Ann Sanchez and husband Orlando of Poth; her grandsons, Paul Anthony Ramirez and wife Chelsea of San Antonio, John Ernest Ramirez and wife Leslie of San Antonio, and Orly Sanchez of Poth; her great-grandsons, Blake Anthony and Maddox Neal Ramirez; and her siblings, Raymond Andrada and wife Tomasa of Haskell, Susie Perez of Byron, Mich., Irene Maldonado of Chicago, Ill., Basilio Andrada and wife Kathy of Rochester, and Jose Angel Andrada Jr. of Poth.

Visitation was held Saturday, Jan. 18, at 6 p.m. in the Emmanuel Assembly of God Church in Poth, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

A funeral service was held Sunday at 1 p.m. in the church with Pastor Jim Collins officiating.

Interment followed in the Emmanuel Assembly of God Cemetery in Poth.

Serving as pallbearers were Paul Anthony Ramirez, John Ernest Ramirez, Orly Sanchez, Carlos Andrada, Ray Guevara, Adan Montez, Louis Flores, and Ricardo Reyes.
