The 81st Judicial District Attorney’s office is seeking candidates for the position of an Administrative Assistant. Duties will include but not limited to: answering incoming calls and greeting visitors, prepare discovery for defense bar as required, providing administrative and clerical support to the ADAs and District Attorney, assist in general office work and perform related duties as follows: Operate a multi-line telephone switchboard, proficient use of software applications and computer equipment, scanning and compiling files for eDiscovery, filing and creating court files, generating reports as required. Applicants must have at least five (5) years of administrative assistant experience, strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) ability to multi-task, excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. 1944-2014

Sidney F. Weber, 69, of New Braunfels, Texas, passed away on Monday, January 13, 2014, in La Vernia after losing his battle with cancer. He was born on March 30, 1944, in Guadalupe County to Edgar Ernst and Lydia Bertha (Clarner) Weber. Sidney was preceded in death by his parents; brother Lee Jay Weber; and nephew Christopher Friederick. He is survived by his children, Kelly Diane Johnson and husband John of Austin, Dr. Franklin Weber and wife Nessie of Canyon, and Dr. Thomas C. Weber of New Braunfels; grandchildren Benjamin Johnson, Avery Johnson, and Chase Johnson; sister Joyce Friederick and husband Freddy of New Berlin; nephew Cory Friederick and wife Tracy of La Vernia; numerous cousins and other relatives; and many loving friends. Visitation was held on Thursday, Jan. 16, from 5-7:30 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in La Vernia.

A funeral service was held on Friday at 11 a.m. in the Redeemer United Church in Zuehl, officiated by Pastor Lee Zillmann.

Interment followed in the Zuehl Cemetery in Zuehl.
