The Stockdale Blue Bonnet Club met Jan. 13 in the home of Sandy Lynn. Members were served refreshments upon their arrival for the regular business meeting.

President Bernice Person called the meeting to order and asked Secretary-Treasurer Mildred Kallies to read the minutes of the November meeting and the December Christmas outing, give the treasurer’s report, and conduct the roll call.

Committee reports were given by the chairpersons. Billie Jo Wolff, Nursing Home Bingo, took refreshments for gamers on Dec. 30. Mary Denson, Christmas Project, reported the committee provided Christmas centerpieces for all the individual tables in the dining area of the Stockdale Residence & Rehabilitation Center, on behalf of the Blue Bonnet Club. The center saved the centerpieces to be used for future seasons. Sharon West, Community Project, reported the tables have been delivered to Stockdale City Hall. The tables will be used in the community building for community usage.

The February hostess will be Teri Wolff, with Helen Deason to be in charge of the program. The February Nursing Home Visitor will be Bernice Person.

Program leader Kay Deagen presented an interesting presentation on “Other Uses for Crockpots.” The most unusual website offered was, suggesting preparation of “40 meals for 40 days” in your crockpot! You are able to prepare Crock-Pot Chocolate Mud Cake; Jambalaya for the Crockpot; Crockpot Breakfast Casserole; and Slow Cooker Cowboy Chicken. The members provided other suggestions.

In attendance for the meeting were Charlin Akin, Edith Akin, Judy Childress, Kay Deagen, Gina Deason, Helen Deason, Mary Denson, Ginger Jackson, Mildred Kallies, Sandy Lynn, Bernice Person, Molly Rowell, Sharon West, Barbara Wiatrek, Billie Jo Wolff, and Teri Wolff.
