(SEE COMMENTS BELOW FOR UPDATES) -- The much-anticipated Cowboy Breakfast, welcoming the stock show season, will run from 4:30-9:30 a.m., allowing for the wintry weather anticipated for Friday morning across South Central Texas. Coastal Bend College campuses in Beeville, Alice, Kingsville, and Pleasanton will open at 9 a.m. to allow for the inclement conditions.

Superintendents in the East Central, Falls City, Floresville, Karnes City, La Vernia, Nixon-Smiley, Stockdale, and Poth school districts are taking a “wait and see” approach. No late starts have been announced, but decisions may be made in the early morning hours. Watch this site and other media outlets for updates.

A mix of light sleet, snow, and freezing rain is expected across all of South Central Texas, mainly from 6 p.m. tonight to noon Friday.

The commute on Friday morning may be significantly impacted. Cold temperatures will be in place tonight and Friday morning, with readings in the 20s and low 30s. High temperatures Friday will only be in the upper 30s to lower 40s.

Expect some mixed precipitation mainly 6 p.m. tonight to noon Friday for the entire area.

Temperatures are expected to fall below freezing across all of South Central Texas before midnight Friday morning.

A mix of sleet, freezing rain, and snow, is expected, with accumulation mainly across the northern half of the area, north of a line from Del Rio to San Antonio to Schulenburg. Temperatures are expected to climb above freezing by Friday afternoon so if this event does occur, it should be over by midday.
