Help Wanted

The City of Poth is currently accepting applications for the position of Chief of Police. The Chief is responsible for all operational and administrative aspects of the police department, provide patrol, criminal investigations, crime prevention, enforce all laws and ordinances and be responsible for public health and safety. Must be community oriented, have strong public relations skills, strong work ethics, must be physically fit and maintain a professional image while in uniform. A High School Diploma or GED is required. Must have a valid Class C or higher Texas Driver’s License. Must be TCLEOSE Master Peace Officer certified and have at least 5 years of experience with law enforcement agency; SWAT, Gang Unit, Narcotics or Detective experience a plus, pass a thorough background check investigation with drug screen and credit check. The City offers benefit package with retirement plan and medical insurance. Salary dependent on qualifications. EOE. The Texas Department of Transportation announces the following construction-related closures:



IH-10 -- Monday-Friday, Jan. 27-31; alternating lanes will close to allow trucks to enter and exit the road and haul materials, as follows:

•9 a.m.-3 p.m. --Westbound frontage road between Huebner Road and UTSA Boulevard.

•9 a.m.-3 p.m. --Eastbound frontage road between UTSA Boulevard and Huebner Road.

•9 p.m.- 5:30 a.m. nightly -- Westbound frontage road between Huebner Road and UTSA Boulevard.

•9 p.m.- 5:30 a.m. nightly -- Eastbound frontage road between UTSA Boulevard and Huebner Road.



IH-10 -- Monday-Friday, Jan. 27-31; alternating lanes will close while crews set barriers:

•9 p.m.-5:30 a.m. nightly -- Westbound main lanes between Huebner Road and UTSA Boulevard.



U.S. 90 -- Monday-Tuesday, Jan. 27-28, 7 a.m.-5p.m. daily. Main lanes, both directions, 2 miles surrounding the Guadalupe River (Seguin). Traffic will move to one lane in each direction, using the westbound lanes, while crews pour concrete. Expect delays.



U.S. 281 -- Friday-Monday, Jan. 24-27, 9 p.m.-5:30 a.m.

Northbound frontage road between Nakoma Drive entrance ramp and Bitters Road (north San Antonio). All lanes will close while crews construct a storm drain system. Traffic will use Country Parkway and Maltsberger Lane to reach its destination. Expect large delays.
