Linda Pattillo Nunley was born in Nixon, Texas, on Nov. 8, 1942, to Paige and Lyndal (Batey) Pattillo. She died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014, in Victoria.

Linda went to school in Nixon until the family moved to Monahans in August 1955. She graduated from Monahans High School in May 1961, and married Perry Lawrence Nunley in Monahans on May 31, 1962. Linda worked in the Nixon-Smiley CISD for more than 25 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Perry Lawrence Nunley; and two sons, Phillip Nunley and Leslie Nunley.

Linda is survived by two daughters, Susan Troka of Mount Vernon, Wash., and Deborah Gross of Vancouver, Wash.; her grandchildren, Crystal Troka, Brandi Troka, John Troka, Dylan Gross, Shelby Gross, and Colby Gross; her great-grandchildren, Arianna Troka, Kaiden Troka, Dontae Troka, Zane Gibbons, and Tara Halterman; her sisters, Patricia Ballard and June Harborth; and many cousins, family, and friends.

Visitation was held on Friday, Jan. 24, from 5-8 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon.

A funeral service was held on Saturday at 10 a.m. in the funeral chapel, officiated by the Rev. Michael Cowey.

Interment followed in the Nixon Cemetery in Nixon.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Aphne Pattillo Nixon Public Library, 401 N. Nixon Ave., Nixon, TX 78140.
