ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. Compensation is at a rate of $200 per week plus $100 per completed and submitted crisis assessment, and mileage. If interested call Camino Real Community Services, 210-357-0359.

1920-2014

Dortha B. Swift died peacefully in her sleep Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, at the age of 93. Born Dec.12, 1920, in Stockdale, Texas, to Claud and Susan Watkins Bird, Dortha was the last granddaughter of Zadok Watkins and S.R. Bird, descendant of Daniel Bird who settled in Wilson County.

She graduated from Stockdale High School in 1938. Dortha married Rex R. Swift on July 29, 1939. Dortha and Rex had five children and 55 wonderful years together before his death in 1995.

She was preceded in death by her parents; eight siblings; husband Rex; and granddaughter Holly Rosser.

Dortha is survived by her five children, Robert Swift and wife Mary of Kingsbury, David Swift of San Antonio, Carol Rosser of San Antonio, Sandra Gidley and husband Dale of Copper Canyon, and Donna Leidner and husband Bill of Mission; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, Jan. 30, at 2 p.m. in the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel in San Antonio.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.

Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Park in San Antonio.
