Elizabeth Moy Mutz, a longtime resident of Wilson County, Texas, entered eternal rest Friday, Jan. 17, 2014, at 4:45 a.m. in the Connally Memorial Medical Center in Floresville at the age of 88 years, 8 months, and 26 days. Elizabeth was born April 22, 1925, in Kosciusko, the daughter of Fred and Victoria Butter Moy.

She attended Kosciusko schools and was a homemaker. Elizabeth married Philip T. Mutz on Oct. 22, 1947, in the St. Ann Catholic Church in Kosciusko, where they both were lifelong members. Philip, Elizabeth’s beloved husband of more than 54 years, preceded her in death on Feb. 9, 2002.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Philip T. Mutz; her infant son; her sons, Billy Wayne Mutz and James Lee Mutz Sr.; her grandson, U.S. Army Sgt. Mitchel Thomas Mutz; and her brothers, Isidore A. Moy and Robert F. Moy.

She is survived by her children, Bobby R. Mutz and wife Dixie of Falls City and Jeanette “Jan” Jendrzey and husband Lambert of Panna Maria; her grandchildren, Lisa Ann Barnhill, Andy Lee Jendrzey and wife Jennifer, James Lee Mutz Jr., Nathan Ray Mutz and wife Shawna, and Michael Philip Mutz; her great-grandchildren, Mattie Mutz, Mikaylee Mutz, Mella Mutz, Katharine Barnhill, Avery Jendrzey, Jackson Jendrzey, William James Mutz, and Tyler Jacob Mutz; and her sisters-in-law, Agnes Moy and Lucy Pogue.

Visitation was held on Monday, Jan. 20, at 5 p.m. with a recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. in the St. Ann Catholic Church in Kosciusko.

A funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in the church, officiated by the Rev. Stan Oleksy.

Interment followed in the St. Ann Cemetery in Kosciusko.

Serving as pallbearers were Elizabeth’s grandsons, Andy Jendrzey, Nathan Mutz, and Lee Mutz; and her nephews, Isidore Moy, Kenneth Moy, and Robert Moy Jr.
