Robert ‘Bob’ Ransleben
On Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, Robert “Bob” Ransleben, beloved husband, father, and “Opa,” passed away peacefully in his home. He was born to Oscar and Margie Ransleben in San Antonio, Texas, on Oct. 18, 1942.
Bob lived in Floresville the last 14 years of his life, where he was an active member and frequent lay reader at the Floresville United Methodist Church. He served his country in the Civil Air Patrol in the early ’60s and served his community as a Cibolo volunteer firefighter in the early ’90s.
Bob is survived by his wife of 38 years, Anita; his son, Reed and wife Lori of Ontario, Ore.; his daughter, Wendy of San Antonio; his son, Jim and wife Connie of McAllen; his brothers, Arthur Thomas Ransleben of San Antonio and Donald Donnley of Floresville; his sister, Linda Rogers of Palestine; 12 grandchildren, Anthony, Kate, Martin, Sara, Michael, Steven, Haley, Morgon, Matthew, Julia, Mussette, and Mykayla; one great-grandson, Maddox; numerous nieces and nephews; and many others who cherished his friendship and rascally sense of humor.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Jan. 30, at 10 a.m. in the Floresville United Methodist Church in Floresville, with the family to receive friends at a lunch to follow.
