Mary Lea Sturm Kyrish, a lifelong resident of the Wilson and Karnes county areas, passed away Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014, in her residence in McCoy, Texas, at the age of 42 years, 11 months, and 8 days. Mary Lea was born Feb. 10, 1971, in Floresville, the daughter of Katherine Pollard and Leonard Sturm Sr.

After graduation from Falls City High School, Mary Lea was a homemaker. She married Jonathan Lloyd Kyrish Sr. on Dec. 28, 1998.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Margaret Sturm.

Mary Lea is survived by her loving husband of 15 years, Jonathan Lloyd Kyrish Sr. of McCoy; her children, Nathan Paul Sturm of Fountain, Colo., Andrew Scott Ash of New Jersey, Jonathan Lloyd Kyrish Jr. of McCoy, and Jantzen Lea Kyrish of McCoy; her sister, Karen Donahoe and husband Bubba of LaPorte; her brother, Leonard “Bubba” R. Sturm Jr. of Falls City; her nephews, Jonathan Sturm of Austin and Justin Sturm and wife Michelle of Falls City; her great-aunt, Bertha Faustamann of McCoy; her grandmother-in-law, Leona Stobbs of McCoy; and her brother-in-law, Jeffery Lloyd Kyrish of McCoy.

Visitation was held on Thursday, Jan. 23, at 5 p.m. in the Vinyard Funeral Home in Poth.

A funeral service was held on Thursday at 7 p.m. in the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Kelly Tankersley.

Mary Lea was later cremated.
