On Jan. 11, Poth High School student Brandon Darr participated in the ATSSB All-Area Band tryouts in Orange Grove and earned a chair in the 1A/2A All-State Band. Brandon was one of only 10 French horn musicians selected in the state at that level. He will participate in the Texas 1A/2A All-State Band concert on Saturday, Feb. 15, in the Lila Cockrell Theater in San Antonio.

Brandon plays the French horn under the direction of Lou Villafana and Chris Swanson. This is his first time to perform as a member of the ATSSB All-State Band.

Brandon is the son of Kenneth and Janice M. Darr of Kosciusko.
