Social services experience required.  Responsible for assisting with recruiting and initial training of advocates, and coordinating cases in Wilson County and Karnes County with Atascosa County (home office). Must demonstrate written and presentation communication skills. Doris Chessher Millington, 92, died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014, in her home in Nixon, Texas. She was born April 4, 1921, in Nixon to Richard Emerett and Lillian Ione (Nickell) Chessher.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Lillian Connally, Alta Marie Finch, and Oleta Chessher; and three brothers, Lillard Chessher, Donald Chessher, and Douglas Chessher.

Doris is survived by four sons, Mike Millington and wife Beverly of Nixon, Tim Millington and wife Susan of San Antonio, Nicky Millington and wife Jan of Karnes City, and Brian Millington and wife Sherry of Austin; 11 grandchildren, Carey, Cook, David, Wendy, Ryan, Patrick, Caitlyn, Taylor, Kathryn, Sara, and Thomas; seven great-grandchildren, Skylar, Brayden, Rowyn, Mia, Kade, Kellan, and Keagan; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation was held Thursday, Jan. 30, from 4-7 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon.

A graveside funeral service was held Friday at 10 a.m. in the Nixon Cemetery in Nixon, with the Rev. Michael Linton officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Nixon Public Library, 401 N. Nixon Ave., Nixon, TX 78140; or to the Nixon Cemetery Association.
