Roberta L. Barnett
Roberta L. Barnett passed away peacefully at home on Friday, Jan. 17, 2014, after a yearlong courageous battle with pancreatic, liver, and lung cancer. She was born June 20, 1946, to Jack and Ruth “Tata” Ray.
Roberta had a double lung transplant in 2007 and had gotten a second chance at life. She had returned to being active in her grandchildren’s activities, which were the love of her life. She loved being outside, gardening, shopping, cooking, and holidays. She will certainly be missed by many friends and family, said her family. A heartfelt thank you to the staff at University Transplant, CTRC, Broadway Dialysis, and Hope Hospice. You all took such good care of her and we all appreciate everything you did for her to help her through her journey, said the family.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Roberta is survived by her spouse of 23 years, Donald “Barney” Barnett; daughter Tami Rocha; son Burton John “B.J.” Neesvig; stepchildren Danny Barnett and wife Barb, Tammy Anderson, Lisa Neesvig, Tina Pfeiffer, Gina Deason, and Keri Neesvig; grandchildren Ryan and Kayla Rocha, Jordan Anderson, and Juliana Neesvig.
A memorial graveside service was held on Monday, Feb. 3, at 2 p.m. in the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.
