Chester P. Niemietz, born Jan. 20, 1926, in Kosciusko, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014, in San Antonio at the age of 88.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired from Alamo Iron Works after 35 years of dedicated service. Chester married his beloved Raley Josephine Lyssy on July 7, 1956, in Kosciusko.

Chester is survived by his wife, Raley; daughter Sandra Diane Hechler and husband Lawrence; brothers Ernest Niemietz, John Niemietz Jr. and wife Shirley, and James Niemietz and wife Bernice; and grandchildren Anthony and Kelly Hechler and Calen Hechler.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, Feb. 4, from 5-9 p.m. with a holy rosary recited at 7 p.m. in the Dellcrest Funeral Home in San Antonio.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Holy Name Catholic Church in San Antonio.

Interment will follow in the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Cemetery in Poth.
