Academy grand opening

Old School Country Hardball, a baseball and softball academy in San Antonio, will hold its grand opening this Saturday, Feb. 8.

To help kick things off, the academy will hold free clinics for baseball players from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., and for softball players from 1-2:30 p.m. The clinics are open to children ages 6-14.

On Sunday, Feb. 9, the academy will host tryouts for the Dirtbags select baseball team. The team is open to players ages 9-14.

The baseball staff at Old School Country Hardball is said to have had more than 150 players receive offers to play professional baseball. On the softball side, the staff has more than 18 years of college coaching experience.

Old School Country Hardball is located at 13983 U.S. 87, behind Rustic Gardens.
