FLORESVILLE -- In an effort to raise money for equipment and field repairs, the Floresville Tiger baseball team will host a hit-a-thon this Saturday, Feb. 8, beginning at 11 a.m. at Tiger Baseball Field.

Members of the Tiger baseball team will have donors make a pledge “per foot” and the farthest hit out of 10 attempts will be recorded. So a 5-cent pledge would pay $15 for a 300-foot hit. Flat donations can also be made.

In addition, there will be an alumni/community home run derby. For a $10 donation, anyone interested in taking some swings themselves can participate. There will also be a fastest pitch competition, where, for $5, folks will get five pitches to show what they have. The concession stand will also be open.

For more information, contact Tiger Baseball Head Coach Jason Pfluger at jpfluger@fisd.us.
