Letter: Be accountable for your animals
This past Sunday as I was about to walk my dog, I heard whining coming from a box in the front of my property. I walked closer and noticed it was a diaper box and it was moving. As I approached the box I could hear the whining get louder. I opened the box and out popped eight puppies.
I could not believe someone could dump puppies on someone else’s property and in front of U.S. 181. I know this happens quite a lot, but people should be responsible and spay or neuter their animals. This just broke my heart that someone could do this. Me being an animal lover, I called all the no-kill shelters in San Antonio and no one had any room for these lovable pups.
This is illegal in the state of Texas. Therefore, whoever this may concern, next time you dump dogs, try to give them away to friends and family that can take care of them instead of putting the responsibility on someone else. God said to take care of His animals; therefore I am in the process of finding loving homes where they will be loved for the rest of their lives.
I’m just expressing my opinion so people can be aware and know what to do with unwanted animals.
