1935-2014

Elizabeth Ann Zook Brown, 78, went to heaven on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014. She was born on July 10, 1935, in the Camp Ranch community, in Wilson County, Texas, to Lawrence and Bertie Lee Zook.

In 1935, the family moved to the Kasper community where Elizabeth went to school and during the summers worked on the farm along with her brothers and sisters. Elizabeth graduated from Poth High School in 1952. Everyone who knew her will miss her warm hugs and beautiful soul, said her family.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack Brown; and her brother, Lawrence Zook Jr.

She is survived by her children, Patricia Blackman, Jacquelyn Staggs, Susan Smith, John Brown, Virginia Christian, Lisa Gray, Clifford Carter, and Carl Wilson; 19 grand-children; 15 great-grandchildren; six brothers and sisters, Lois Wauson, Robert Zook, Margaret Wauson, Don Zook, Gerry Wieding, and Sam Zook; numerous nieces and nephews; and friends whom she always considered family.

Visitation was held on Friday, Feb. 7, from 6-8 p.m. in the Mission Park Funeral Chapels South in San Antonio.

A funeral service was held on Saturday at 10 a.m. in the funeral chapel.

Interment followed in the Oakley Cemetery in Bexar County.
