Children’s Hospital Trail Ride events
The Children’s Hospital Trail Ride, a nonprofit organization in its 26th year of operation, will host three annual events to benefit the Children’s Hospital of San Antonio Foundation. Throughout their 26-year history, they have raised more than $816,000 to help children and families served by the Children’s Hospital of San Antonio.
The public is invited to participate in any or all of the scheduled events:
•Team Roping set for Friday, Feb. 28, and Saturday, March 1, at 8 a.m. at the Mesquite Trail Hall and arena located at 11663 Ford Road in Adkins.
•Trail ride, dinner, and dance set for Friday and Saturday, March 14-15. Registration is Friday from noon to 8 p.m., with camping and food at Cestohowa Hall located at 180 C.R. 245 in Cestohowa. Dinner will be served Saturday from 5-7 p.m., $7 per plate. A dance from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. will feature the “Ranch Rock Band.” Admission is $8 per person (12 and under are free).
•The BBQ Cook-Off will be held Saturday, March 29, at Cestohowa Hall, with registration from 8-9:30 a.m. Cookers can compete in six categories -- ribs, chicken, chili, beans, brisket, and dessert. A dance will follow at 7 p.m. with music by the “Cody Riley Band.” Admission is $15.
