On Jan. 25-26, 34 members of the East Central cheerleading team attended the High School Cheerleading Nationals in Dallas.

On the first day of competition, the team finished in prelims 10 points ahead of the rest of the competition in their division. On day two, the team came back in finals with an awesome performance to take home the National Title, Best Stunts, and Best Performance Showmanship awards of the Large Intermediate Coed Division.

Overall, the competition had more than 100 teams from California, Hawaii, Missouri, New York, Oklahoma, and many more states.

The dedicated team members, who range from grades 9-12, have worked hard since September 2013, practicing six days a week. Led by coach Robin Fox and assistant Christy Luis, the team has participated in four competitions during the 2013-14 school year.

Congratulations to the East Central cheerleaders on their outstanding performance.
