LV Junior Livestock Show, more
Floresville FFA member Payton Meuth steadies her heifer entry as she prepares for the Wilson County Junior Livestock Show held last month.
The La Vernia Chamber of Commerce will host the 57th annual La Vernia Junior Livestock and Poultry Show Thursday, Feb. 27, through Saturday, March 1, at the La Vernia Chamber of Commerce grounds located at 12301 U.S. 87 in La Vernia.
This event gives youth exhibitors the opportunity to show their 4-H and FFA projects, as well as a chance to go through the auction to build their college funds.
Again at this year’s show, a Baked Foods and Arts and Crafts bid sale will take place Friday, Feb. 28, at 4 p.m. Come early to see all the winning items and support the youth of today.
The La Vernia News will once again be the drop-off point for entry forms and containers for the baked foods show. Currently, participants can come by the office to collect the entry forms.
The livestock and poultry exhibitors will have their auction Saturday, March 1, at noon in the sale arena. The buyers’ registration opens in the hospitality building at 10 a.m.
Food booths, refreshments, exhibits, and arts and crafts booths will be available throughout the show. A buyers’ pool will also be accepting donations for the 2014 show and a silent auction -- to benefit senior scholarships -- will be held.
For more information, call Mark Koepp at 210-288-9889 or Sarah Young at 830-947-3322 or 210-259-9886.
For more information regarding booths, call Charity at 830-534-9241.
