Guadalupe “Lupe” M. Ximenez, 80, passed away Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014, in Floresville, Texas. Lupe was born on Nov. 13, 1933, to Refugia (Cardenas) and Enrique Mendez Sr. in Floresville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Arthur V. Ximenez Sr.; brothers Raymond Mendez, Enrique Mendez Jr., and Edward Mendez.

Lupe is survived by her children, Arthur V. Ximenez Jr. and wife Stephanie of Floresville and Mary Jane Ximenez of Floresville; grandchildren Marcos A. Gamboa, Kaitlyn M. Ximenez, Adrianna K. Ximenez, Allyssa C. Ximenez, and Arthur V. Ximenez III; brothers Joe Mendez, Carlos Mendez, and Juan Mendez; sisters Carmen Rodriguez, Antonia Garza, Diana Segura, Mary Lerma, Manuela Garza, and Ninfa Flores; numerous nieces and nephews; and many loving friends.

Visitation was held on Sunday, Feb. 16, at 5 p.m. with a rosary vigil at 7 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in La Vernia.

A funeral Mass was held on Monday at 10:30 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville, officiated by the Rev. Frank Kurzaj. Interment followed in the Floresville City Cemetery in Floresville. Memorial contributions may be made by way of Masses.
