1914-2014

Charles Hosek Jr., born Nov. 2, 1914, in Poth, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, at the age of 99.

Charles enjoyed budding pecan trees, making wine, fishing at the coast, bowling, going to the casino, playing bunco, and traveling with Gladys to many places, including Canada, California, and Las Vegas. He loved his dogs, Tex and Toby. Charles was a lifelong member of St. Benedict’s Catholic Church and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Christine; sisters Lily Magel, Bessie Green, and Adela Krebs; brothers Lee Hosek and Melvin Hosek; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Charles is survived by his daughter, Sandra Passe and husband Charles; loving friend Gladys Meyer; sister Mary Rose Pell; brothers William Hosek and wife Suzie, Edward Hosek and wife Frances, and Eugene Hosek and wife Martha.

Visitation was held on Thursday, Feb. 13, from 5-9 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. in the Dellcrest Funeral Home in San Antonio.
