Judge sets May trial for accused gunman
Jury selection ahead of the trial of 48-year-old Jerry Lee Janysek of Poth is set for May 27, following his Feb. 10 arraignment in Wilson County District Court.
Janysek is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for allegedly shooting another Poth man July 27, 2013. Janysek is set to return to court March 31 for a pretrial hearing, followed by a May 14 docket call.
Other defendants listed on the Feb. 10 docket included:
•Roberto Martinez Huron Sr., 60, of Floresville, arraigned on one count each of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and deadly conduct, for allegedly firing a gun at his son in a home on Montesito Lane north of Floresville July 22, 2013. He is set to return to court March 12 for a pretrial hearing, followed by an April 7 docket call.
•Patsy Lynne Ritchey, 54, charged with theft of property worth more than $20,000 but less than $100,000, misapplication of fiduciary property, and theft of property worth more than $1,500 but less than $20,000. Ritchey was scheduled for a pretrial hearing; however, her next court appearance is set for March 18 as court records indicate that Ritchey now faces possible indictment resulting from an ongoing insurance fraud investigation.
