Stockdale page: Lions Club to hold fund-raiser in March

The first-ever Stockdale Lions Club BBQ Cook-off is set for Friday and Saturday, March 28-29, in the Stockdale City Park, located off S.H. 123 in Stockdale.

Friday’s activities include a Kids Pork Chop Cook-off, a Greased Pig Catch, and Cooker Olympics. Entertainment will be provided by Chad Anderson and Nick Wells from 7-11 p.m.

A volleyball tournament will be held both days.

Saturday’s cook-off divisions include pork ribs, brisket, chicken, beans, and salsa.

A Steve and Ramona Lambeck Memorial Scholarship and KidSight Mud Run will be held Saturday. Other events include goat slapping, kickball, and a washer tournament.

The “Hillbilly Jug Band” will perform from 1:30-3:30 p.m.
