Congratulations go out to all the winners at the Wilson County Junior Livestock Show. It was great seeing all the competitors even though it did get a bit cold for a while. Also, a special congratulations go out to Stockdale senior Jessica Puente, who won grand champion lamb at the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo.

The new track is nearing completion. The cold and wet weather has caused some delays but any day now the final red topping will be placed and striped. In upcoming issues, we will be setting out some specific rules to follow when the general public will be using the track for walking or jogging. Please keep an eye out for these in another issue of the Wilson County News.

Spring break is right around the corner. Please see the school calendar for the dates of spring break.

Teachers of the month for January are: Constance Rankin, elementary school; Leslie Thomas, junior high school; and Mike Lynn, high school.

Congratulations to these fine educators!

Paul Darilek is the superintendent of the Stockdale Independent School District.
