La Vernia NHS blood drive, Feb.21

The La Vernia High School National Honor Society will sponsor a blood drive on Friday, Feb. 21, from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the La Vernia High School parking lot.

Donors must be at least 16 years old and weigh 120 pounds or 17 years old or older and weigh 110 pounds. All presenting donors will receive a T-shirt and a chance to win a pair of Spurs tickets. Students who donate six times during their high school years will be eligible to receive the red blood cord to wear at graduation. Community members are also welcome to donate.

Appointments may be made online at or by calling Lou Glazener at 830-779-6630. Drop-ins are also welcome, but the wait time may be longer.
