In a pair of recent golf tournaments, the athletes from La Vernia have made their presence known. In girls competition, freshman Shawnee Allen shot an 84 at the Holmes High School tournament to finish in second place. The tournament was held at the Hyatt Hill Country Resort.

On the boys side, the Bear golf team traveled to San Antonio Feb. 10 to participate in the East Central golf tournament at The Republic Golf Club.
