La Vernia junior livestock, poultry show is Feb. 28
This La Vernia Junior Livestock Show participant goes through the rabbit validation process in 2013.
The La Vernia Chamber of Commerce will host the 56th annual La Vernia Junior Livestock and Poultry Show Thursday, Feb. 28, through Saturday, March 2, at the La Vernia Chamber of Commerce grounds located off U.S. 87 in La Vernia. This event gives the youth exhibitors the opportunity to show their 4-H and FFA projects, as well as a chance to go through the auction to build their college funds.
Again at this year’s show, a Baked Foods and Arts and Crafts bid sale will take place Friday, March 1, at 4 p.m. Come early to see all the winning items and support the youth of today.
The livestock and poultry exhibitors will have their auction Saturday, March 2, at noon in the sale arena.
Food booths, refreshments, exhibits, and arts and crafts booths will be available throughout the show. There is no barbecue meal this year, but the hospitality building will be open. A buyer’s pool will also be accepting donations for the 2013 show.
