The La Vernia Chamber of Commerce will host the 56th annual La Vernia Junior Livestock and Poultry Show Thursday, Feb. 28, through Saturday, March 2, at the La Vernia Chamber of Commerce grounds located off U.S. 87 in La Vernia. This event gives the youth exhibitors the opportunity to show their 4-H and FFA projects, as well as a chance to go through the auction to build their college funds.

Again at this year’s show, a Baked Foods and Arts and Crafts bid sale will take place Friday, March 1, at 4 p.m. Come early to see all the winning items and support the youth of today.

The livestock and poultry exhibitors will have their auction Saturday, March 2, at noon in the sale arena.

Food booths, refreshments, exhibits, and arts and crafts booths will be available throughout the show. There is no barbecue meal this year, but the hospitality building will be open. A buyer’s pool will also be accepting donations for the 2013 show.

For more information regarding the baked food and arts and crafts bid sale, call Sarah Young at 830-947-3322, Monelle Trammell at 210-573-8289, or the Wilson County office of the Texas AgriLife Extension Service at 830-393-7357.

For more information regarding booths, call Charity at 830-534-9241.

For additional information regarding the buyer’s pool or the event, call Mark Koepp at 210-288-9889 or Sarah Young at 830-947-3322 or 210-259-9886 or email sandryoung123@gmail.com.
