ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. Compensation is at a rate of $200 per week plus $100 per completed and submitted crisis assessment, and mileage. If interested call Camino Real Community Services, 210-357-0359.

Dora R. Riojas, 88, died Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, in Corpus Christi. She was born June 12, 1925, in Westhoff, Texas, to Manuel and Anastasia (Ramos) Rodriguez.

Dora was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Manuel Riojas; and a brother, Lupe Rodriguez Sr.

She is survived by her son, Henry Riojas and wife Josie of Corpus Christi; two grandsons, Henry Manuel Riojas and wife Frances of Taft and Jacob Arturo Riojas of Corpus Christi; her great-grandchildren, Viviana Esperanza Riojas and Urijah Riojas, both of Corpus Christi; sisters Juanita Ramirez of Nixon, Rosa Moreno of Gatesville, and Maria Ramirez of Kenedy; a brother, Louis Rodriguez of Seguin; numerous nieces and nephews; and other loving family.

Visitation was held Thursday, Feb. 20, from 4-8 p.m. with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon.

A funeral Mass was held Friday at 2 p.m. in the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Nixon.

Interment followed in the Nixon Latin American Cemetery in Nixon.

Memorial contributions may be made by way of Mass intentions.
