Help Wanted

ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. Compensation is at a rate of $200 per week plus $100 per completed and submitted crisis assessment, and mileage. If interested call Camino Real Community Services, 210-357-0359.

Donald Frank Roskydal, 76, of La Vernia, passed away on Monday, Feb. 17, 2014. He was born Sept. 4, 1937, in Mount Calm, Texas, to Frank and Josephine (Bubenik) Roskydal.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his loving wife, LaVerne; son Dale Roskydal; daughter Karen Ayers and husband Jim; grandchildren Ashley Sawyer, Samantha Cage, Katie Roskydal, Luke Ayers, Blake Ayers, and Sean Ayers; great-grandchildren Chase, Kinley, Brylee, Kacen, Landon, and Jaron; brother Alton Roskydal; and many loving friends.

Visitation was held on Thursday, Feb. 20, from 5-8 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in La Vernia.

A funeral service was held Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the Immanuel Lutheran Church in La Vernia, officiated by Dr. Robert Palan.

Interment followed in the Concrete Cemetery near La Vernia.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 310 Seguin Road, La Vernia, TX 78121.
