Immanuel Lutheran Church is now hiring for a Youth and Family Ministry Director. Pastoral: Minister to youth and their families during Sunday School and other church programs, being present in their lives outside the church walls, available for common concerns and in crisis situations. Leadership: Recruit and nurture Youth and Family Ministry program. Administration : Manage the planning process and coordinate with Pastor and Youth Committee all regular ministries to youth and their families. This includes youth of all ages on Sunday mornings and mid-week events; assisting with Confirmation, special events, trips and retreats, and parent meetings. Stewardship: Ongoing evaluation of the effectiveness of youth programs, manage youth ministry budget, and collaborate with the sponsors of each Youth group. Ability to build, lead, and empower youth. Ability to implement a ministry vision. Familiarity with Lutheran Doctrine required; must be comfortable teaching it and representing Lutheran Theology. Proficient computer skills using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, database, email, internet, and social media. Supervisory experience preferred. Ability to adapt and evaluate curriculum preferred. Must have excellent organization, communication (verbal and written), and listening skills, with a high degree of initiative and accountability. Exceptional interpersonal and relational skills required, with sensitivity to church members and visitors. Understanding and enjoyment of youth and families and guiding their spiritual development. 1936-2014

Kenneth B. Moore, 77, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014. He was born Dec. 13, 1936 in Clovis, N.M., to Robert Eugene “Bob” and Ima Iona (Decker) Moore.

He honorably served in the U.S. Navy and worked for AT&T for 28 years.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Raymond, Bill, and Robert Moore; and sisters Lahoma, Ellen, and Margie.

He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Roberta Virginia Moore of San Antonio; daughter Elizabeth Melanie Moore of Seguin; son David Saul Moore and wife Jean of Austin; stepson Larry A. Wiley and wife Dorothy of Stockdale; five grandchildren, Dillinger Moore, Ryan Garcia, Heather Garcia, Melissa A. Granato and husband Jason, and Robert G. Wiley and wife August; and two great-grandchildren, Nicole Granato and Jake Granato.

Visitation was held on Friday, Feb. 21, from 5-7 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in Stockdale.

A funeral service was held on Saturday at 10 a.m. in the First Baptist Church in Stockdale, officiated by Brother Scott Jones.

Interment followed in the Steele Branch Cemetery near Stockdale.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Stockdale, 202 S. 7th St., Stockdale, TX 78160.
