SAN MARCOS -- Stockdale participated in the San Marcos junior varsity tennis tournament No. 1 on Feb. 13. The tournament was moved from Feb. 11 due to inclement weather.

In junior varsity boys doubles, Alex Vela and Travis Covington finished in first place. They played four matches, starting with a Pflugerville team, defeating them by a score of 8-6. In the quarterfinals, they had a very competitive match with a team from Clarksville in Austin. Stockdale won, 8-5. In the semifinals, Vela and Covington faced a closely matched Floresville team, and came out on top, 9-7. In the finals, the Brahmas faced another Pflugerville team. The match was close from start to finish. With the score tied at seven games all, Stockdale got a crucial service break to go ahead 8-7. From there, Stockdale held service to win the match, 9-7.

Nathan Golla and Aaron Wallace participated in the first round of the main draw and the first round of the consolation draw.

The junior varsity girls singles saw Hannah Hernandez win her first match, but in her second-round match, she failed to advance. Velma Vidal participated in the first round of the main draw and the first round of the consolation draw.
