Floresville Independent School District’s Reading Initiative, “Floresville Reads Millions,” continues its success. The objective is to instill a love of reading in our students so that they will become lifelong readers. We believe that academic achievement starts with reading, and it is our goal for students to collectively read 8 million minutes by the end of the school year. That equates to approximately 12 minutes of reading per student, per school day.

Kindle e-readers are awarded to selected students each month to show our gratitude to them for their efforts and to motivate them to keep reading.

We are on track to meet our goal -- we have logged 5,175,802 minutes during the first five months of the program (September to January). You can track our progress with us on our banners at each campus, as well as at H-E-B and Walmart.

Floresville ISD has awesome students and staff!
