Hay & Forage report: Feb. 21
Compared to last week: Hay prices were unchanged on light to moderate trade activity and demand. Spring-like temperatures this week have been a nice break from the winter storms. Typical quiet time of the year for they hay market as many producers are cleaned out until April. A few sellers staying busy hauling contracted hay to dairies and feedlots. Prices for hay and pellets quoted per ton except where noted.
North, Central, & East Texas
Alfalfa: Large Squares: Delivered: Premium to Supreme $285.
Coastal Bermuda: Small Squares: FOB: Good to Premium $200-$230, $6-$7 per bale.
Large Rounds: FOB: Good to Premium $60-$80 per roll, $120-$160 per ton, Good $50 per roll, $100 per ton.
South Texas Hay Report
Coastal Bermuda: Small squares: FOB: Good to Premium $230-$265, $7-$8 per bale; Fair to Good $165-$230, $5-$7 per bale.
Large rounds: FOB and delivered locally: Good to Premium $120-$160; $60-$80 per roll.
