To be eligible for the $25 gift certificate from Pfeil’s Home and Garden Materials in Floresville, your correct entry must arrive by Monday at 9 a.m. following the photo’s issue date. In the case of more than one correct answer, a drawing will determine the prizewinner.

Sharon Curry is the winner of the Feb. 19 Plant ID contest, correctly identifying agapanthus from the photo. This large bulb plant has straplike leaves and blooms in fireworks clusters; usually blue, it also is available in white. Sharon wins a gift certificate from Fanick’s Nursery in San Antonio.

The Plant ID Contest has been a lead-in to the Wilson County Garden Day this Saturday, March 1, at the Floresville Independent School District Alternative Education Center. Read more about this fun, family-friendly event on page 1B, and plan now to attend!
