The 81st Judicial District Attorney’s office, which includes Frio, La Salle, Atascosa, Karnes and Wilson Counties, is accepting resumes for an Assistant District Attorney position. The selected candidate will work directly under the Border Prosecution Unit Initiative dedicated to Human Trafficking/Human Smuggling. Responsibilities of the position include working closely with federal, state and local law enforcement agencies, felony intake, preparation of cases for grand jury, negotiating pleas and representation of the State of Texas in pretrial proceedings, as well as in criminal bench trials and jury trials in District Court. All applicants must be a graduate of an accredited law school and licensed to practice law by the State of Texas and have a minimum of fifteen (15) years prosecutorial experience and extensive felony trial experience. Esmael C. Estrada went into the loving arms of the Lord on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 76. He was born on March 10, 1937.

He will be dearly missed and never forgotten, said his family.

Esmael is survived by his children, Randy Estrada and wife Mary, Horlando Estrada, Eddie Estrada and wife Cathy, Anabel E. Martinez and wife Jackie Moncivais, Ismael Estrada and wife Aurora Lopez, and Alejandro Estrada; sisters Esperanza Aguillar, Sylvia Martinez, and Virginia E. Herrera; grandchildren Eric Estrada, Evette Estrada, Sandy Hernendez, Roxanne Estrada, Kelly Estrada, Monica Estrada, Jeremy Estrada, James Estrada, Ilianna Perez, Erica Perez, and Ruby Martinez; great-grandchildren Jagger A. Hernandez, Talia Y. Hernandez, Ivory E. Alvarez, Gilbert Alvarez III, Aiden A. Alvarez, Jordan A. Cortez, Trinity Aranda, Eternity Elmore, Danielle Elmore, Jacob Elmore, Nicholas Mora, Serenity Hernandez, Zoey Estrada, Jaden L. Estrada, Miles J. Estrada, Javier J. Madrigal, and Zaylee L. Torres; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 8, at noon in the El Mesias United Methodist Church in Floresville.

Memorial contributions may be made to the El Mesias United Methodist Church on behalf of Esmael Estrada.
