Stockdale JV tennis team plays in Cuero

Stockdale participated in the Cuero junior varsity tennis tournament Feb. 19.

In junior varsity boys doubles, Alex Vela and Travis Covington placed first. They defeated teams from Gonzales, 6-0; Poteet, 6-3; Edna, 6-0; and Cuero, 7-5, in a match that was close from start to finish.

In junior varsity girls singles, Hannah Hernandez won her first-round match, but failed to advance in her second-round match. Velma Vidal won her first-round match, but also failed to advance beyond the second round.

Gabriella Vidal and Sarah Nichols lost their first match in junior varsity doubles. They tied their consolation match at two games each due to lateness. Noelia Torres and Belea Wells came up short in their first-round match, as well as in their consolation match. Sabrina Garza and Courtney Forester failed to advance beyond the first round, and they also lost their consolation match.
