NASCAR Nationwide Series rookie driver Dylan Kwasniewski has signed on to be a development driver with Chip Ganassi Racing, according to an announcement on Sunday from CGR. Kwasniewski currently drives the No. 31 Chevrolet for Turner Scott Motorsports in the Nationwide series. He will continue in that role.

“I am extremely happy right now and thrilled to be getting this opportunity with Chip and the whole team," Kwasniewski said. "I have wanted to do nothing but race for as long as I can remember so this is a dream come true. I look forward to being part of Chip’s organization and will hopefully be a key contributor to its future success.”

Kwasniewski was the 2013 champion in the NASCAR K&N Series East before making the move to Nationwide Series competition. So far this year in the Nationwide Series, he has a pole and a top-10 race finish, three races into the season. Both the pole start and his top-10, and eighth, came in the season opener at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway on Feb. 22.

“This young man has impressed us from the moment we saw him," team owner Chip Ganassi said. "His poise, skill and determination on the race track are remarkable for someone so young. I am really looking forward to seeing him grow as a driver with each increase of competition. I think Dylan has a big future ahead of him in NASCAR.”

One of Kwasziewski's teammates at Turner Scott just happens to be Kyle Larson, who also races full-time in the Sprint Cup Series for Ganassi and formerly drove for Turner Scott Motorsports.
